We do not test tools, we document them. Every figure on this site comes from an official manufacturer page or a dated price retrieval, and the source is always cited next to the figure.
Catalogue figures
They come from manufacturers' own pages, retrieved and dated internally. When a maker publishes two contradictory figures, we quote both and say so. We do not average them and we do not decide on its behalf.
Prices
Prices are retrieved automatically from Amazon and time stamped. The time stamp is shown next to the price. A price we could not retrieve is shown as not retrieved, never replaced by an estimate.
We systematically exclude items that present themselves as compatible with a brand without being that brand: a battery sold for Makita is not a Makita battery, and showing it as one would give a false price.
Adapter pairs
They come from Google and Amazon search suggestions, recorded in French, English and German. We keep only pairs the engines suggested themselves, meaning ones real users type.
What we do not do
We do not bench test tools and we present no test as having been carried out. We publish no editorial dates. We are not a substitute for a licensed trade: on electrical work, gas, load bearing structure and work at height, the applicable rules and inspections stand, and nothing on this site overrides them.
