Power for All: the 11 Bosch alliance brands and their 155 tools

Power for All brings 11 brands together on the green 18V Bosch battery. It is the home and garden alliance: 76 of the 155 tools in the catalogue come from GARDENA, Flymo, Husqvarna and GLORIA. For DIY, the useful members are Bosch Home and Garden, Wagner for painting, Rapid for stapling and nailing, STEINEL for hot air. Bosch alone accounts for 59 tools.

What the alliance claims

Our vision is to give our users ONE battery that can be used for every use case in and around the home.

The partners page of the official website (powerforall-alliance.com) lists 11 brands, and its "At a glance" guide counts 155 tools at the time of our check, against a claim of "more than 10 brands and more than 150 products". HK Audio is a member but has no product in that catalogue yet, and we add none.

The 36V GARDENA and Flymo mowers run on two 18V alliance batteries at once: it is not a different battery.

What we already compare from Bosch

None of the machines in our scored comparisons runs on the Power for All battery. The green Bosch models we cover are mains or battery-cell tools, listed here for what they are. The closest to the alliance is our pressure washer comparison: on battery, the alliance only offers medium-pressure cleaners (Bosch Fontus 18V, GARDENA AquaClean 24/18V), not machines of that power.

Bosch AdvancedAquatak 140 (Pressure washers, mains, 2,100 W) See on Amazon

Traps to know about

Green Bosch and blue Bosch do not mix. The Power for All battery is the Bosch Home and Garden one. The Bosch Professional battery belongs to the AMPShare alliance, with a different mount. Same brand, two systems.

STEINEL belongs to three alliances. It is also in AMPShare and in Metabo CAS: the specific tool has to carry the Power for All mark, not just the brand.

Bare tool or kit. The catalogue often lists the same model twice, alone or with battery and charger. If you already own a green Bosch battery, the bare tool is enough.

For the battery's data sheet, see the Bosch Power for All platform; for the three alliances side by side, see our alliances page; to use another battery, see battery adapters.

Frequently asked questions

Does a green Bosch battery fit a GARDENA or Flymo mower?

Yes, if the tool carries the Power for All mark. That is the point of the alliance: one battery and one charger for all its tools, whatever the brand.

Does a Bosch Professional battery work on a Power for All tool?

No. The blue Bosch Professional battery belongs to the AMPShare alliance and has a different mount. Only the green Bosch Home and Garden battery powers Power for All tools.

How many brands are in Power for All?

11 brands on the official partners page, and 155 tools in its catalogue at the time of our check. The alliance itself claims more than 10 brands and more than 150 products.
