CAS brings 52 brands together on the 18V Metabo battery. On a job, the members that matter are Metabo, Mafell and Eibenstock for power tools, Rubi for tiling, Rothenberger, VIRAX and Cembre for plumbing and electrical, BECK, PREBENA and GESIPA for nailing and riveting, TRUMPF for sheet metal, SCANGRIP for lighting. Metabo alone accounts for 187 of the 520 machines in the catalogue.
What the alliance claims
CAS batteries are compatible with more than 50 brands. Easily combine your batteries and chargers with more than 500 machines from CAS brands.
The figures hold up. The brands page of the official CAS website (cordless-alliance-system.com) lists 52, and its product search counts 520 machines at the time of our check. 43 brands have at least one machine there; for the others the catalogue lists nothing yet, and we add nothing.

Traps to know about
CAS and AMPShare do not mix. The two alliances compete and their batteries do not share the same mount. Yet Rothenberger, Fischer and Steinel belong to both: the detail is on our AMPShare Bosch page and our three alliances page.
Member does not mean the whole catalogue. A brand can sell corded tools or tools on another battery alongside its CAS range. The tool has to carry the CAS mark, not just the brand.
Bare tool or kit. Many catalogue references come in two versions, with or without battery and charger. If you already own an 18V Metabo battery, the bare tool is enough.

Frequently asked questions
Does an 18V Metabo battery fit a Mafell, Rubi or Rothenberger tool?
Yes, if the tool carries the CAS mark. That is the point of the alliance: one battery and one charger for every CAS machine, whatever the brand.
Does a CAS battery work on an AMPShare tool from the same brand?
No. Rothenberger or Fischer sell tools in both alliances, but each tool only takes the battery of its own alliance. Check the mark on the specific tool.
How many brands are in CAS?
